Working group sent to guide COVID-19 control in Liaoning

Schools, kindergartens and other educational institutions in Bayuquan District of Yingkou, Liaoning Province have been temporarily closed.

As of noon Sunday, the northeastern Chinese province has reported seven confirmed local COVID-19 cases.

Eight asymptomatic carriers have also been identified. They include a doctor who treated a patient with a sore throat who was recently confirmed to have COVID-19 in Anhui Province.

China's National Health Commission has dispatched a working group to guide COVID-19 prevention and control efforts in Liaoning.

At least nine residential communities and villages in Yingkou have been upgraded to medium-risk areas.

A second round of nucleic acid tests covering all 500,000 people in Bayuquan has been launched.

Chinese cargo craft for space station mission ready for launch

The Long March-7 Y3 rocket carrying the Tianzhou-2 cargo ship for China's space station has been transferred to the launch area at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan Province.

The facilities and equipment at the launch site are in good condition. Preparations and tests for the launch will be carried out according to schedule.

Kobe Bryant remembered in emotional Hall of Fame inductions

Kobe Bryant has been inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame.

He was presented by Michael Jordan.

Bryant's widow Vanessa delivered a speech on his behalf and directed the final remarks to her late husband.

"Congratulations baby, all of your hard work and sacrifices paid off. You once told me, 'If you're going to bet on someone, bet on yourself.' I'm glad you bet on yourself, you overachiever. You did it. You're in the Hall of Fame now. You're a true champ. You're not just an MVP, you're an all-time great."

Bryant died in a helicopter crash along with his daughter in January last year. He was 41.
