When l first came to China,l was fascinated by the exquisite craftsmanship and fine materials of Oriental wooden structures. At this exhibition,l have seen more wooden architectural structures from China and France, which really feasted my eyes.

South Africa's forest resource base, comprising three types, namely, woodlands, natural forests and commercial plantations, plays a significant role in terms of addressing the country's triple challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment. Our forests play a significant role in terms of poverty eradication through job creation, economic growth and supply of basic needs, particularly in the communities that live in close proximity to the forest areas which are characterised by high levels of unemployment and poverty.

The theme for the congress, “Forests and People: Investing in a Sustainable Future”, puts the peoples of the world at the heart of forests and I sincerely trust that the meeting will yield the desired objectives, including that of ensuring a sustainable future for the forests.

Hello everyone, my name is Zhang Yaping. I come from Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and serve as the head of Zhuoni County Fengyu Animal Husbandry Farming Farmers' Professional Cooperative. I am also a leading figure in starting the Women's Poverty Alleviation Workshop and Employment Poverty Alleviation Workshop to help people get rich. Since childhood, I have suffered from polio. In the second year of junior high school, I was forced to drop out of school because my father was in a car accident. In 2008, with the financial support of my uncle, I self-studied and was admitted to a technical secondary school, finally realizing my dream of going to school.

求学之路可以说是一波三折，但是残疾人就业更不容易，我四处求职，四处碰壁，最后在超市仓库做管理员。但是因为要去货架搬东西，上上下下，我的身体也无力承受。其实我一直在想，难道我的人生一直要这样下去吗?贫困、潦倒、窘迫。我为什么不想着改变呢?于是2005 年我决定自己创业，我回乡租了附近村民的 300 亩地，整整扎在地里半年，我有了6万多的收入，尝到了创业的甜头。第二年，我又将亩数扩大到了 500 亩，同时我还筹建起了合作社。

The road to learning can be described as full of twists and turns, but employment for people with disabilities is even more difficult. I looked for jobs everywhere but was rejected repeatedly. Finally, I worked as a warehouse manager in a supermarket. However, because I had to carry goods on the shelves and move up and down, my body couldn't bear the burden. In fact, I kept thinking: Is my life always going to be like this? Poor, down and out, and embarrassed. Why don't I think about changing it? Therefore, in 2005, I decided to start my own business. I returned to my hometown and rented 300 mu of land from nearby villagers. After working hard in the field for half a year, I earned more than 60,000 yuan, tasting the sweetness of starting a business. In the second year, I expanded the area to 500 mu and meanwhile began to establish a cooperative.

第二次创业对我来说也有很多困难，但是我不认输，最后在政府和残联部门的帮助下，我们的合作社也是规模越来越大，占地面积将近一万平方米，种植面积也达到了 1200 亩。饲养西门塔尔品种牛和湖羊、藏羊 706 头，更是带动贫困户 85 户，其中 32 户是残疾贫困户，还有非贫困户 110 户，我们分红金额累计达到了 20 余万元。作为一名残疾人，我能够在家门口带着贫困户和残疾人挣到安心钱，我觉得特别的荣幸，也特别的骄傲，谢谢大家! 

The second business venture also brought many difficulties to me, but I refused to give up. Finally, with the help of the government and disability federation departments, our cooperative has grown larger and larger, covering an area of nearly 10,000 square meters and with a planting area of 1,200 mu. We raise 706 Simmental cattle, Hu sheep, and Tibetan sheep, driving 85 poor households (including 32 poor households with disabilities) and 110 non-poor households. The cumulative dividend amount has reached more than 200,000 yuan. As a person with disabilities, I am particularly honored and proud to be able to lead poor households and people with disabilities to earn a stable income near my hometown. Thank you all!
